pride 2025

This body of work is a vibrant homage to identity, metamorphosis, and cultural hybridity. Created for Pride 2025, the collection celebrates queer joy through richly layered materiality—pairing painterly techniques with found and fabricated objects like lace, LEGO florals, and textiles. Each piece inhabits the liminal space between nature and artifice, ornament and memory, inviting viewers into an immersive world where resilience blooms in full color.

Eden
This diptych evokes the lush mysticism of a garden in bloom beneath soft rainfall. A vertical cascade of lavender and periwinkle washes sets the stage for an ecstatic arrangement of flowers, fruits, and engineered flora. Glossed fruits, waxed buds, and pale blossoms emerge as if from a dream—half myth, half memory. "Eden" is both a celebration of natural growth and an allegory for queer flourishing, capturing a moment of joy under the veil of gentle rain.

Against the streaming rain backdrop, each LEGO bloom and painted petal pulses with life, suggesting both abundance and renewal.

Floral Butterflies
Dreamlike and tactile, this piece layers plaster, lace, and translucent paint to create weightless, transformative butterflies that shimmer against a pale background.

With controlled pastel drips and soft smudges, the piece becomes a meditation on fragility, transformation, and joy found in the unexpected.

Each butterfly is crafted from LEGO petals and delicate textiles, turning childhood relics into symbols of quiet metamorphosis.

By combining lace, plaster, and LEGO blooms, I hoped to evoke the delicate yet transformative power of nature while also highlighting the joy found in unexpected creative pairings.

Floral Reverie in Blue
A #commissioned diptych that marries the handmade with the modular, this work juxtaposes soft, hand-molded petals with geometric #LEGO blossoms. The work invites close inspection, blurring the boundaries between artificial and organic, whimsy and contemplation.

The contrast of textures—fluid fabric against the snap-fit logic of toys—speaks to the evolution of creativity itself, from childhood play to mature introspection.

Spring Awakening

A joyful eruption of color and texture, Spring Awakening celebrates the season’s bold return with sculpted petals, glossy LEGO blooms, and hand-painted flourishes. This piece captures the moment winter gives way to wild color—where everything starts to bloom, boldly and unapologetically.

Layers of magenta, yellow, and lilac unfurl in exuberant motion, evoking the messy beauty of growth and the thrill of new beginnings.

Seasons of Love

an homage to #KeithHaring

This multimedia relief pays tribute to Keith Haring’s iconic “LOVE” motif, reimagining it within a lush, floral tableau that spans the cycle of the four seasons. At the center, the sculptural “LOVE” form emerges in painterly swirls of purple, cobalt, and yellow—echoing Haring’s graphic immediacy while softening it into a more intimate, textured register.

Surrounding the text, a cascade of LEGO florals, hand-shaped petals, resin-cast foliage, and painted elements represent spring’s pink blossoms, summer’s bold sunbursts, autumn’s crisp blue leaves, and winter’s white blooms. The layered floral elements playfully blur natural growth and synthetic invention, evoking how love—like nature—is ever-changing yet eternal.

By blending Haring’s bold message of queer love with symbols of renewal and transformation, Seasons of Love becomes a celebration of joy through time, embracing the cyclical nature of beauty, connection, and creative endurance. It is both homage and declaration—a reminder that love, in all its seasons, deserves to flourish.

the "Floral Kaleidoscope" and "Gossamer Petals: Echoes of Spring"

in anticipation of spring, here is a curated collection of my artworks cataloged in a dual series: the "Floral Kaleidoscope" and "Gossamer Petals: Echoes of Spring". Both series invite viewers to delve deeper into the symbolic significance of spring, prompting contemplation on personal experiences of renewal and metamorphosis, as we strive to harmonize with the rhythmic cycles of nature.

The exuberant hues prevalent throughout my compositions serve to amplify the palpable sense of vitality and rejuvenation synonymous with the season of spring. From depictions of female equality to powerful representations of iconic figures like Frida Kahlo, my paintings aspire to amplify the voices of women throughout history and across cultures. Through the lens of feminism, these pieces aim to challenge societal norms, celebrate diversity, and inspire empowerment. With the intricate blend of mixed media, these paintings serve as a visual testament to the enduring struggle for gender parity and the boundless capabilities inherent in every woman.

The Puffins Tea Party

tiered Dacquoise using hand-painted lace, metallic dragées and florals

I was honored to be commissioned by a gorgeous and charming family from California for their Childrens’ Playroom. The family was drawn to The Puffins: The First Date, below, that was sold to a collector in Singapore earlier this year. Armed with creative freedom, I decided to cast the family as Puffins at a Tea Party, against a backdrop of the Northern lights.
